Digital is the digital satellite broadcaster for the UK. |

Sky currently offers the widest number of channels to
UK residents, and has a greater coverage than Freeview
or cable TV. Sky currently has a range of different
packages starting from £15 per month. You can also add
stand-alone premium channels such as the 10 Sky Movies
channels, three Sky Sports channels, the Disney channels,
Music Choice and Artsworld. Sky is also offering free
Broadband to its customers.
The
Sky+ set-top box contains all the features of the standard
Sky Box - the same great picture and sound quality,
parental controls, interactive programme schedule -
which the ingenious added ability to pause, rewind and
record live TV, thanks to the built-in PVR (personal
video recorder). With the record function, you can store
up to 40 hours of live television straight on to the
Sky+ box, without any need for blank tapes or rewritable
DVD's.

colour, deep detail and amazing clarity. |
The
Sky HD box also comes with all Sky+ functionality so you'll
be able to pause and rewind live TV or record every episode
of selected series. The Sky HD Box improves upon the image
and sound quality provided by its digital counterparts
by bringing an amazing crystal-clear cinematic experience
into your living room - clearer pictures, sharper focus,
brighter colours, and greater image depth, with many programmes
making use of Dolby Digital 5.1 Stereo, and all broadcasts
viewable in widescreen format. Viewers will be able to
watch all Sky channels through an HD box, both HD and
standard definition channels.
However, only the specific channels will show programmes
in high definition - a programme which is broadcast in
high definition can be identified by the 'HD' at the end
of their name. The Sky HD Box has all the functionality
of Sky+, you can pause and rewind programmes, watch and
record separate channels, record two programmes simultaneously,
as well as being able to store up to 80 hours of TV. |

It
is possible to have several TV points in your house
to receive and control your Satellite and video, or
to watch multi Point TV.
We
can install or upgrade existing points to view and control
your main FreeView or Sky box.
You can operate each point with a separate, standalone
FreeView or Sky system.

could also buy a new or used Sky Digibox to use with your
existing one. You will also need a twin-output or quad-output
LNB on your minidish. If you want more outputs you will
need a dish with a 40mm clamp and an OCTO LNB (8 outputs)
or a QUATTRO LNB and a "multiswitch". These are available
with up to 16 outputs. The equivalent of having 16 outputs
on an LNB. However, one of the conditions for the multiroom
"mirror card" is that BOTH of your Sky Digiboxes must
be connected to the same phone line. If you were planning
to install your second Digibox in a bedroom, this, together
with the LNB cable, could be difficult to achieve, and
messy! |
